Increased Numbers of Avoidable Cancers

by Isaak Kwok on August 12, 2007

A report in The Guardian highlights the increase in numbers of potentially avoidable cancers because of the modern lifestyle such as alcohol, smoking, obesity and exposure to the sun.

The research by the Cancer Research UK found that in most cases of skin, mouth, womb and kidney cancers, the cause is usually a result of our lifestyle. And simple changes in lifestyle can help prevent the occurrences.

So, remember:

Everyone can help reduce their risk of cancer by avoiding smoking, keeping a healthy body weight, eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruit, vegetables and fibre and taking regular exercise.
